Pompey's Pillar in Alexandria

Pompey's Pillar , it dates back to the third century A.D. it is a 25M. tall red granite column, constructed in honour of the Emperor Diocletian, originally from temple of Serapis , was once a magnificent structure rivalling the soma and the Caesareum.

other remains includ two pink geranite sphinxes. Nearby are subterranean galleries, where the sacred Apis bulls were buried.
